Nicola had written a childrens' book but to make the dream a reality she needed needed an illustrator.. Luckily she called on us.
I'd worked with Nicola in a previous job and when she got wind that I'd illustrated a couple of kids books previously and asked if we'd be interested in illustrating her story.
Of course, we jumped at the chance as we love drawing at dollop. After working with Nicola to develop a style that she'd envisaged we planned out pages and how each image would show in a storyboard rough storyboard. We then got to work drawing with a digital pen to bring the story to life. Once all the illustrations were complete we put the book together and created a marketing website to help promote the book.
It was great to work with Nicola and it's always the best feeling seeing people enjoying the book and actually holding a physical copy. Rumour has it there is another book in the making so watch this space.
