Tasked to created a website that showed the quality craftsmanship of master stair-makers Ackworth House
For this project I was approached by the lovely team at Virtual Marketers to design and build a site for their client Ackworth House
Ackworth House are a stair maker of the highest quality producing a number of amazing looking floating and custom staircases for all sorts of swanky houses across New Zealand
One of the most appealing things about this job was the access to hundreds of professional photos that showcased their work which made creating a site like this so much easier. Visual imagery plays such an important role when selling a high quality product like this so the aim was to complement large stunning imagery with plenty of white space and movement to engage the user and encourage them down the page.
The project had a quick turn around and the site needed to showcase their range of different products as well as inspiration through client projects, expertise and a gallery.
Working alongside the team at Virtual Marketers we aimed to create a simple user experience with lots of backlinks across the site to keep visitors engaged while making it easy for them to find any specifics they might be looking for while keeping the client in the loop with initial design concepts through to the final build.
This was one of my favourite projects to work on, I loved transforming the site from what it was to what it was now for a really lovely client. They create amazing staircases and it was a delight to showcase what they do for their new website.
Alex's vision for the Ackworth House website was incredible from the get go. He seamlessly merged excellent UX best practice and creative thinking with beautiful design (marrying up to the staircase brand itself) and then build a robust, yet easy to edit site in record time. He gave 110% to the project, always going above and beyond, and striving for perfection which I loved. Thorough, talented, incredibly fun to work with, I will (and have been) work with Alex again!
